England's head coach Brendon McCullum Completes The Ashes Series Backroom Team with David Saker's Return
Brendon McCullum has finalised his coaching team in preparation for the Ashes, featuring David Saker from Australia coming back to assist England in a fourth Test series facing his home nation.
Saker's Role and Timeline
David Saker, officially designated as specialist skills advisor, will be in Australia from the arrival of the England Lions squad in early November and continue with the primary team during the entire five-Test series.
Tim Southee, who has had an identical role since May presently with the white-ball group in his home country New Zealand, will persist with the squad until the end of the first Test in Perth.

One more comeback features Gilbert Enoka, previous All Blacks psychological skills trainer, initially introduced to the squad ahead of the Test match facing India at Old Trafford during July.
Residing in Christchurch, is also working with the white-ball squad and will be involved for the first Ashes Test.

David Saker's Coaching History
Saker, now 59, previously acted as England’s fast bowling coach between 2010 and 2015, including an Ashes triumph in Australia.
Later, he occupied a similar position with Australia from 2016 to 2019 then came back to England in 2023.
