Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the top winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the developer's achievements, its gifted actors also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards during the event.
Additional notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only four categories—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by reviewers.
